The MD of DePoel has stated that temporary labour, "can and should be used more strategically".
Last week, REC's (Recruitment Employment Confederation) latest report stated that 40% of people want to work on a temporary / contract basis. The reality is that UK businesses employ far few percentages, albeit the number of contractors employed in the UK is at an all time high at the moment.
The DePoel MD stated that Britain’s biggest blue-chip companies were "embracing a HR revolution" by increasing their use of contractors, not only as a stop-gap but as a strategy within their business. But he has concerns that too many companies don't follow suit, and don't use the pool of temporary staff enough to benefit themselves.
