Luke is a career recruiter, with over a decade of experience under his belt. Starting out in IT and Banking recruitment, Luke then moved into the Renewables and set up Cathcart Energy in 2013. He has a deep understanding of the Renewable Energy industry and has grown Cathcart Energy to be one of the UK’s most trusted Renewable Energy recruiters.
Cathcart Energy, part of the Cathcart Associates Group, was born from a desire to be able to bring our ethos, our skills and our resources to bear in the Energy Sector. Staffed exclusively with senior career recruiters with and over 40 years combined recruitment experience, we focus on recruiting specialists into the Renewable Energy industry at all levels and across all disciplines.
We know the Renewables sector inside out and understand the specific challenges and opportunities it provides. We consult with our clients to ensure we provide an honest, impartial and knowledgeable take on their recruitment needs.
Our unparalleled network allows us to offer excellent opportunities to candidates looking to enter the sector, or those looking for their next challenge, and we can introduce the best talent in the industry to companies that need to grow their capabilities.
Sabrina manages our German renewables business, focusing on the onshore and offshore German wind energy market, and she has built a very impressive client list of Developers, Manufacturers and Consultancies. She brings over ten years international sales experience to the team, as well as a relentlessly cheery demeanour. A proud Bavarian, she now splits her time between Edinburgh and Hamburg. Her time in Edinburgh has improved her Scottish immeasurably, and she can now make herself understood even in Leith!
James is a Senior Recruitment professional with a wealth of international experience in the Energy Recruitment industry. His no-nonsense style and unbeatable work ethic has helped build our Energy division into one of the country’s most successful independent Renewable specialists. Outside of work enjoys the mighty Hibs, his endless record collection and cooking on boats.
Hamza is the newest member of Cathcart Energy’s UK team having transferred from a successful career in the Motor Industry. His focus is the Wind Turbine Service Technician market and expanding the company’s client base. Born and raised in Edinburgh as a diehard Hibs fan, Hamza brings an undoubted tenacity and enthusiasm to the table, as well as classic Scottish patter and an addiction to Irn Bru! Aside from football, Hamza has a keen interest in history and has ambitions to write a novel in the future.
Lisa is a Wind Energy recruitment specialist, focusing on professionals for both on and offshore roles across the whole of Germany. She also covers all technical roles within the Wind Energy sector. Dividing her time between Hamburg and Edinburgh, Lisa comes to the renewables industry after a career in plastic, finally seeing the light! In her spare time, she loves restoring old furniture, travelling through Scotland and drinking gin, although not always at the same time.
Sigrid is managing our Scandinavian expansion and divides her time between Edinburgh and Malmö, focusing on Onshore and Offshore wind. She holds an MSc in Organisational Change and Management from Lund University in Sweden, and has a ten year track record in business to business sales and marketing.
Half Scottish/half Swedish, she is honest and direct, with a twinkle in her eye. As the self-proclaimed “hippy” of the team, she loves the guitar and can often be found singing and writing music.
Morgan manages our French business, covering Solar, Wind and Biogas professionals. Originally from Toulouse, he now divides his time between Edinburgh and our base in Lyon. He has a Masters Degree in Business, and after a successful career in sales moved to Edinburgh to celebrate the Auld Alliance and educate the Scots in pétanque. He has strong interest in sports in general and is really proud (probably too much) of the French team become World’s Champions.
Rudy manages Cathcart Energy’s 360˚ recruitment in the Netherlands, spending his time between the Netherlands and Scotland. Travel between Netherlands and Scotland has always been second nature to him, having grown up in Scotland but spent most of his school holidays with his Dutch grandparents in the east of the Netherlands. Gaining his bachelor’s in business administration from the Hotel school The Hague, he went on to work in Hospitality around the world before settling back into Scotland with his family. Rudy is fluent in Dutch and English. He is passionate about DIY and Scottish rugby, not to mention renewables! His ambition is to live in an eco-house without the need for national grid electricity (and his Green Egg BBQ).
Ruqayya - our newest edition to the German team. She will be looking after the German "Energy Storage" market.
Born and raised in the countryside in Germany, the big city life was calling. After having taught German in London and Hong Kong, she moved on to a career in hospitality around the world and somehow ended up in beautiful Edinburgh.
Eager for knowledge in the renewable energy industry, it was time for a new resourceful career.
In her free time she enjoys hiking, martial arts and good cuisine.
Kajsa is part of the Scandinavian team, and her focus is the service, maintenance and operations sector in the Nordic wind energy market. She holds a BSc in Psychology from Luleå Technical University, and she utilises her knowledge in this field to truly understand her candidates career motivations and our clients needs.
With roots in America and Sweden, Kajsa is straightforward and easy-going, and you will always get a genuine answer from her. She divides her time between our office in Malmö and our Edinburgh headquarters, and in her spare time, she can often be found in a café enjoying a 'fika' (coffee and a cake), or longboarding around the streets, as snowboarding is unfortunatey more difficult in the south.
Bernhard is a solar energy recruitment specialist, focusing on the German market. He holds a Masters degree in Psychology & Management and comes to the renewables after a career in various industries. Born in Munich, he now divides his times between Hamburg and Edinburgh. Being the second Bavarian in the office, you can see a fair amount of brezels and lederhosen these days. Out of work, he enjoys football and pool and is often seen at local art exhibitions, accompanying his artist girlfriend.
Sam set up the Cathcart Associates in 2009, and Cathcart Energy along with Gordon and Luke in 2013, growing the business from a small attic room to a global business employing over 40 people across two continents. He is immensely proud of the team, and the company’s reputation as professional recruiter who does things properly.
Bevin manages and co-ordinates the Back-Office department across the whole of Cathcart Group with a total of 35+ staff members.
Within this, she manages the finance, HR, payroll and facilities function to ensure that the business and office runs smoothly.
In her spare time, Bevin likes to enjoy a (large) glass of wine in a dog friendly pub with her cockapoo Angus!
As the Senior Office Co-ordinator, Jenny manages the internal and Contract payroll (so be nice to her if you need an advance!) tracks company and consultant performance, organises company events and manages the permanent and contract invoicing procedure. She is the ‘go-to’ for any contractor or client payment queries.
Courtney is our Office Administrator! Her role in the company includes bookkeeping, filing, managing our social media (along with our various blog posts!) and much more. Courtneys’ hobbies include the gym (bit of a fitness/health freak) and also doing eyelash extensions on the side. If you ever need to find her, she will be in work, lashing or at the gym!
