Further to our blog article last week where we reported that 324 people had been prosecuted for lying on their CVs, some new data has just been released by First Advantage, a pre-employment screening company. They show that 27.2% of all verification check on CVs over a 3 year period showed some sort of error. Of these errors, 32% were deemed to be major.
Education history was the worst offending category, where more than a third (35.2%) showed a discrepancy.
Make sure you check your CV and/or your recruitment partner checks the qualifications!
