Largest annual fall in UK unemployment on record!

26/11/14 - 13:06

The latest ONS (Office for National Statistics) report showed continued good news for the UK employment market with an additional 46,000 people employed from the previous quarter, giving a new total of 30,760,000.

As you would have thought, this lead to a decrease in unemployment, but by a much bigger amount. 1,970,000 are now unemployed, 154,000 fewer than the previous quarter and now 508,000 fewer than the start of the year - a new national record! As such the unemployment rate dropped to 6.0%, the lowest since 2008.
