The latest Bank of Scotland "Report on Jobs" has shows further growth in permanent placements as well as temporary assignments last month. As such, more positive pressure was placed on salaries as the further increased demand for staff worked against the further reduction in the availability of skilled talent.
For the second month in a row, the greatest increase was in Aberdeen (despite the price of oil remaining more stable). From a skills shortage perspective, Glasgow appears to be the hardest region to find good permanent staff, with Dundee being top of the temporary skills shortage table. Not surprisingly, Glasgow also showed the highest increase in permanent salaries and Dundee showed the highest increase in contract rates!
